3 Reasons You Should Care About Your Skin

Growing up, I liked to talk a lot and ask even more questions. By nature, we like to know the reason behind our actions and the things that we do. Today, I want to focus on talking about why taking care of your skin is important. There are many reasons for taking care of your skin. I want to empower everyone to feel good about the way they look. I am all about feeling comfortable in your own skin, but sometimes there are things we can do to feel even more comfortable in our own skin. I have seen many friends and family members suffer due to the way their skin looked. Today we will talk about 3 reasons why your skin care should be important to you.

1. Avoid Dark Circles

Most of us have a lot on our plate and wake up early go to school and work and then go to bed late to do it all over again. Believe it or not, this takes a toll on your skin. Being tired is something that we will not be able to avoid but treating our skin can help prevent or improve dark circles. Dark circles can occur for many reasons including age, skin pigmentation, fatigue and genetics. Luckily, for mild cases of dark circles treatment is very affordable and can be done at home. Some treatments include using tea bags and serums to hydrate the skin.  I like to think that it is better to prevent than having to repair damage that has already been done to our skin.

2. Feel Good in Your Skin

It is sad to admit that we live in a society in which people are very judgmental, as a result we see many people struggle with their appearance. There are young people that suffer from different skin conditions such as acne, psoriasis, eczema and rosacea. Taking care of our skin can have a deeper effect than just the way we look. Most of the time, people do not develop these conditions due to bad skin care but it has been proven that as good skin care is practiced, then it can improve the condition of the skin. I had a family member who felt very bad about his skin, he was experiencing some acne and was feeling down about his appearance. I could tell by just looking at him that it was affecting him a lot. He thought he just bad skin, so he was not very hopeful that it would go away. I saw him some months later, to my surprise, I noticed his face looked very clear. He explained that he had learned about what his skin needed and it helped his skin a lot, his attitude was a lot more positive. He was confident and did not feel ashamed of his appearance. His face was not completely clear but just knowing there was hope helped him in his journey to be comfortable in his own skin.

3. Prevent Wrinkles

Let's be real for a second, most people want to look young. As people age, skin starts to lose elasticity due to a slow down in the production of collagen. Unfortunately we are not able to completely avoid wrinkles but good skin care goes a long way when it comes to staying wrinkle-free for as long as possible. Choosing the right ingredients in products is very important when it comes to skin. Wrinkles need a heavy amount of moisturizing such as essential oils to maintain the moisture levels high. As you learn more about skin care, you can learn to know what your skin is asking for which helps prevent wrinkles. As you take care of your skin, you will learn to have a routine. Aside from skin, having a daily routine is helpful to stay in a healthy lifestyle. For the most part, it is recommended for people to wash their face and have a routine two times a day, depending on skin types. Routines help to understand what needs to happen in each day and helps alleviate stress which is important to maintain healthy skin. These are all ways that aging and wrinkling can be prevented.
